Resource Person: Dr. Umang Garg, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science Engineering, Amity University, Gwalior, Madya Pradesh.

Dr. Umang Garg, has been working as an Associate professor in department of Computer Science and Engineering, Amity University, Gwalior, MP, India. He is committed to advance both research and teaching in the field of Security. He has combined research and teaching experience of over 13 years and done a significant contribution towards the research community working in IoT security using Machine learning. Dr. Garg has done PhD (IoT Security), M.Tech (CSE), and B.Tech (CSE) for his academic Persiveness. He has published more than 30 research articles with reputed journals and highly indexed conferences. He has more than 8 Patents in his credit in the areas of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Cyber Security, and Internet of Things. He has supervised 3 Master students and currently supervising two Ph.D. students in Amity University, Gwalior. He is reviewer of various Journals and Conference Proceeding and invited as an expert for session chair in various international conferences. He is Member of CSI and IEEE.

Outcomes of the Session

Dr. Umang Garg addressed the significance of filing the patents; approach to file patent from the innovation (idea) to publishing the patent. This roadmap was explained using the various procedures, and forms to claim during the process. Case study was done using Indian Patent Journal (https://search.ipindia.gov.in/IPOJournal/Journal/Patent) publications. The key point conveyed was structure of filing a patent.
